Condition and protection
Occupied homes, furnished rooms, patching, failed caulk, stains and primer needs add labor. We write these items into the scope instead of hiding them behind a square-foot guess.
Coatings and schedule
Coat count, chosen finish, color changes, access and deadline affect production. The confirmed coating system and start window belong in the written quote.

The estimator uses a periodically reviewed U.S. state rate card and your project inputs to show a range and preliminary scope. It is not a supplier bid, wage promise or final contract price. Photos help reveal visible conditions, but cannot confirm hidden damage, substrate adhesion or lead status. A site review may change the final scope.
For pre-1978 homes, disturbance of painted surfaces may require Vermont Renovation, Repair, Painting and Maintenance review before scheduling. See Vermont Health Department RRPM guidance.
Written scope, then an agreed deposit.
For accepted projects managed directly by Vermont Interior Painting, the standard 50% deposit is calculated from the confirmed written quote and must cover recorded direct production costs. We do not request a deposit from an online planning range alone.
